These are sturdy stainless steel construction, and more than capable for the job. The handles are comfortable, so your hands don't get tired and ramped while carving. The set has several different tools , each one with a particular purpose and use, so carving intricate designs is easy, And they come with their own carrying case, which is great for not losing anything when you put them away.     This is the nicest, sturdiest set of pumpkin carving tools I've found yet. They cut cleanly, and they had a much more substantial heft than any others I've purchased from grocery stores, drug stores, etc. I did have one blade come out of the handle of one tool which then rendered it useless, but considering it had gone through three pumpkins before it gave out, that's already better than the sets you'll buy at the dollar store. Good stuff.
