You may already be familiar with oat milk nails, the manicure equivalent of no-makeup makeup, but Harry Styles has firmly cemented oatmeal nails as the next cute color to add to your stash.

Whereas oat milk nails add a sheer milky hint of color to nails, like a more natural-looking Frenchie, oatmeal nails are, well…the color of oatmeal. They’re a wholesome porridge-colored shade with cool taupe tones that—as it goes—actually work as a really pretty neutral. It’s a fresh 2022 update on the greige trend that took off a few years back, plus the trench-coat-toned color is perfect for spring.

Styles served up the mani look on his cover shoot with Better Homes & Gardens. Shot at a North London lido where Styles likes to head for cold-water swimming and some headspace, the singer discussed his new album, Harry’s House, which he says explores the idea of “home.” For the beauty look, Styles stripped things back and opted for earthy, natural tones.

Obviously, Styles is no stranger to serving up a seriously strong mani game, having decorated his own nails in his personal life and for red carpet appearances for years, which is what inspired him to create his own beauty brand, Pleasing, with a line-up of nail polish shades. As for the exact shade chosen by Styles for the shoot, we’re putting our money on Tender Bud, a soft oatmeal beige, from The Shroom Bloom Set

Explaining his move into becoming a beauty mogul, Styles previously told Dazed it started with “me seeing a color on a flower or a wallpaper or something and thinking, Oh, I wanna put that on my nails. It was a fun little project.” He added, “I’ve always found that the moments in my life which have brought me the most joy are the small ones…. I really think that the essence of Pleasing is finding those little moments of joy and showing them to people.”

So, cute, cozy, wholesome shades that speak to our mood and energy look like the way forward—an understated oatmeal mani may be exactly the blank canvas we need.
