About the author

Gaby Dunn (they/them) is a New York Times bestselling author, comedian, and LGBTQ advocate living in Los Angeles. Gaby is the host and creator of the podcast, Bad with Money with Gaby Dunn, now in its eighth season, where they have interviewed guests like Suze Orman, Andrew Yang, and Elizabeth Warren. A nonfiction book based on the podcast was published by Simon & Schuster in 2019.

As COVID-19 began to bring the world to a stuttering halt, Gaby Dunn (they/them) — author of Bad with Money: The Imperfect Art of Getting Your Financial Sh*t Together and host of the Bad with Money podcast — watched, along with countless others across the country and around the world, as their income plummeted.

Since starting their podcast in 2016, Dunn has researched and reported on financial literacy for the underserved, while using those same tips to stabilize their own finances. “Mostly succeeding” before the pandemic, Dunn was suddenly in the midst of a financial disaster. What started out as a passion for making financial education more accessible to everyone became instrumental in Dunn’s personal struggle for economic survival.

Dunn’s lessons from their own trials over the past two years takes center stage in Stimulus Wreck, a conversational how-to guide on navigating our new reality and rebuilding after a financial disaster. The piece provides a thoughtful, more inclusive approach to making the most of your money and surviving in a culture of financial jargon, shame, and judgment.

Available June 8 as both an ebook and audiobook narrated by the author.
