Festival season is officially here and your 2023 music festival options are ample and all over the United States and North America. From popular festivals like Ultra, Firefly, Coachella, and Lollapalooza to more regionally popular fests like North Coast Music Festival or Okeechobee Music Festival, this year's season will be filled with options for every type of festival-goer.
Whether you are seeking out the largest festivals that attract Top 40 headliners or looking for a more nostalgic or curated experience, there’s an option for everyone, and odds are no matter where you live, there's some sort of festival happening not far from you at some point this summer.

Baja Beach Fest
This music festival is located right on the shores of Rosarito Beach, Mexico and will feature dozen of reggaeton's top artists. Between August 11 and 13, Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Becky G, El Alfa, Ivy Queen, Young Miko, and more will take the stage. Tickets start at $349 for three-day general admission passes. Outside Lands
Outside Lands 2023 will take place at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California between August 11 and 13, 2023. Tickets are on sale now at SFOutsidelands.com, with general admission passes starting at $449. Headliners are Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, and Maggie Rogers.
North Coast Music Festival
Chicago's North Coast Music Festival (aka "Summer's Last Stand") is back for 2023 and will be held at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois over Labor Day weekend, from September 1 to September 3, 2023. The electronic music-focused festival this year will feature headliners including Marshmello, Alesso, Zeds Dead, Flume, Duke Dumont, DJ Snake, Alison Wonderland, and Lane 8. General admission three-day tickets are currently being sold for $204 each (before fees) and one-day tickets are starting at $75 each.
Hopscotch Music Festival
Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, will play host to the latest edition of the Hopscotch Music Festival from September 7–9, 2023. City Plaza on Fayetteville Street will welcome headliners Pavement, Alvvays, Denzel Curry, Japanese Breakfast, King Krule, Margo Price, Dinosaur Jr., and Sunny Day Real Estate, and additional club and comedy shows will also be held as part of the festival. Imagine Music Festival
The EDM camping festival will take place on September 14—17, 2023 in Kingston Downs, Georgia. The lineup includes Big Gigantic, Chris Lake, Dab the Sky, Dillon Francis, Dom Dilla, Sofi Tukker, Shaquille O'Neal's DJ alter-ego DJ Diesel, and more. Tickets are on sale right now.
The National's Homecoming Festival
The ever-popular indie band is bringing back its Homecoming Festival for the first time its inaugural offering in 2018. The two-day festival will be held at Smale Park's ICON Festival stage in Cincinnati, Ohio, from September 15—September 16, 2023. In addition to the hometown boys, the lineup will feature Patti Smith & Her Band, The Walkmen, Pavement, Weyes Blood, Snail Mail, Arooj Aftab, and more. Tickets are on sale here.
Music Midtown
Three-day Atlanta music festival Music Midtown will feature a stacked lineup at Piedmont Park from September 15—17. 2023 headliners include P!nk, Guns N’ Roses, Billie Eilish, The 1975, Flume, and Lil Baby. Also on the lineup are Pitbull, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Incubus, Tove Lo, Yung Gravy, and Niall Horan. Tickets for the festival, including three-day passes and one-day tickets, are on sale now.
Riot Fest
Chicago's punk-focused, nostalgia-heavy Riot Fest is returning to the city’s Douglass Park from September 15—17 this year. Headliners include Foo Fighters, The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, The Cure, and Queens of the Stone Age. Also performing among the festival's 2023 lineup are Turnstile, The Mars Volta, Danzig, Tegan and Sara, 100 Get, AFI, PUP, Ani DiFranco, Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton, Kim Gordon, and more. Format Festival
Format Festival is taking place from September 22 to September 24 on the Sugar Creek Airstrip in Bentonville, Arkansas. The festival aims to bring together "the most influential minds in art, tech, and music," and its 2023 headliners include Alanis Morissette, LCD Soundsystem, and Leon Bridges. Additional performers include Modest Mouse, Jamie XX, Tash Sultana, Big Wild, Channel Tres, Little Simz, Bob Moses, Poolside, The Pharcyde, and Hermanos Gutierrez. Life Is Beautiful
Life Is Beautiful will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada for the tenth year, between September 22 and 24, 2023. Xponential Music Festival
Xponential Music Festival will take place between September 22 and 24, in Camden, New Jersey at Wiggins Park. The 30th anniversary of the music festival will feature headliners Old Crow Medicine Show, Tegan and Sara, and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers. Additional performers will be Say She She, The Hold Steady, and Sunny War. Tickets for the festival are on sale now at XPNFest.org.
Portola Music Festival
San Francisco, California's Pier 80 is playing host to the electronic music-focused 2023 Portola Music Festival on September 30—October 1. Headliners at the festival include Eric Prydz, Skrillex, Nelly Furtado, Labrinth, Thundercat, Rina Sawayama, Polo & Pan, FKJ, and Jai Paul. Tickets can be found at PortolaMusicFestival.com.
All Things Go
All Things Go will take place in Columbia, Maryland on September 30 and October 1. The lineup is stacked with big names, including headliners Maggie Rogers, Lana Del Rey, and Boygenius. Other performers include Carly Rae Jepsen, Muna, Fletcher, Arlo Parks, Suki Waterhouse, and Ethel Cain. Tickets to the festival are available now at AllThingsGoFestival.com.
Austin City Limits
ACL is back for another two-weekend stay at Austin's Zilker Park from October 6—8 and October 13–15. Headliners for this year's festival include Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Odesza, The Lumineers, and Alanis Morissette. Shania Twain (weekend one) and The 1975 (weekend two) will also join for one weekend each. Gordy's Hwy 30 Music Fest
At the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, Gordy's Hwy 30 Music Fest will take place between October 19 through 22. The festival will feature headliners Dierks Bentley, Zach Bryan, Cody Jinks, and Koe Wetzel. Additional performers will include Gary Clark Jr., Ella, Colbie Caillat, and many more. Darker Waves
The inaugural Darker Waves music festival centered on new wave artists will take place November 18, 2023, at Huntington Beach City Beach in California. The lineup will include headliners New Order and Tears for Fears, with additional performers including The B-52's, Soft Cell, Devo, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, X, and The Cardigans. Tickets for the one-day festival start at $199 and can be purchased at this website.
