Reasons for the problem of cat urine flowing from the base

If you encounter the problem of cat urine leakage, this may be caused by the cat is not quite adapted to the use of the new litter box, because the cat did not urinate on the litter when going to the toilet, but urinated on the wall inside the litter box or in the gap between the ball bin and the base, this may also be because not too cat is not quite adapted, please give the cat a little more time to adapt and slowly lead them to use it correctly.

Overall pretty good.. **UPDATE 2** Removing another star...**UPDATE*** REMOVING 1 STAR
***UPDATE 2****Drum was NOT rotating back to position after cycle. Removed whole drum to find out why. It was because the flimsy little tab on the waste chute broke and the door was hanging in the waste bag, preventing drum from rotating properly. This is the 3rd part/piece that has failed/broken in the last 6 months. I purchased in October, but didn't begin using until about January because the rescue kittens were too small at the time. I have a message in to the seller and hope to find if they will replace the broken parts/pieces under the warranty. I'll keep you posted.***UPDATE***I have removed 1 start for the following reasons:The yellow plug at the back of the machine is now gone. It kept falling off easily and apparently fell off and went into the garbage bag. I don't know if we can replace it.I still can not get the app to work. For some reason I have a found a time or two where the cleaning cycle did not engage and had to do it manually or turn the machine off then on again (unplug and replug it in). Cats did not like the unclean litter box and thankfully we still had a back up non robot box in the room as well. (But one I am hoping to remove as we have 1 dog that keeps trying to get into the litter box! Yuck!!)I can say that we are fortunate and still have not had any issues with urine leaking under the drum. Some background -We purchased this after we rescued 3 kittens over the summer. We did not start using this until December when the kittens were a little bigger. So this one automatic cat box is being used by 3 young cats (who are about 7-8months old now as I write this. (2 boys, 1 girl). So it gets a lot of use every day.We have been using this for 3 -4 months now.The Good:It's quiet, it is in the same room we are in most of the time when watching tv & is unobtrusive. It doesn't take up much more floor space than a regular large cat box.It has NEVER turned on or rolled with a kitten inside. The waste bag is pretty easy to get on and off.We change the bag approx. every 4-5 days (3 kittens)The barrel is easy to remove & put back on.Dogs don't get into the litter box anymore-- yay!!**Thankfully we have NOT experienced any urine leaking or getting under the barrel, as many others have posted about, but we do get litter under there. The Not So Good:We get litter under the barrel. The yellow plug at the back of the barrel comes out easily! I've seen it in the litter bed and rescued it from the waste bag a few times. The clip that allows you to open where garbage bag goes has broken on one side **See Photo. Both sides should be yellow...it did not break off while using it. I went to empty the waste bag and the clip was just gone. So far it's still working ok, but have concerns it's going to fail completely.Make sure your 2.4 (or whatever it is ) wifi is on and working - this does not play nice with 5.It needs a light inside or keep a flashlight nearby - you can not see the MAX line for the litter easily. The BAD:Make sure when you are going to 'deep clean' the barrel that you have a back up litterbox handy for your babies because this isn't going to be a quick turn around. It is NOT as easy to clean as they claim or show on the video. It's not horrible, but time consuming and a bit annoying. You can not get all the water to drain out when you clean it, you have to get towels and dry it out as best you can...and then STILL let it air dry because if you don't, and put clumping litter in....it's not pretty. A lot of water hides in the screen area where the litter sits during a cleaning/dumping cycle...SURPRISE!!!Haven't been able to get the app to work at all yet.The touch screen is hard to see if the icon is not lit up -so you basically have to get down on the floor to see, and it's still not always easy. A little backlight would be helpful. lol. This isn't under good or bad because it could just be operator error - but it says it has some features that I have been unsuccessful in operating. Don't know how to use or activate them. lol.Overall I am fairly happy with this unit - but if I was having the issues that some folks have reported, such as the leaking, that would have been a deal breaker for me. If anything changes or happens I will update this review. We are thinking of getting a second automatic litterbox, but don't know if we'll get another one of these or try another box. Still pondering - but only because of others reporting the leak issue. Otherwise I would get another one of these without a concern.

    UPDATE:
Have only had this a little more than a year and noticed a problem. Somehow litter has gotten under the gray bottom mat and is like concrete. This effects the sensor and amount of litter you can put in becomes less. It empties way too often--especially after cleaned. Costing me more money. I really like it too. Just needs REDESIGNING. NOT HAPPY BECAUSE IT'S NOT CHEAP.My cat prefers it over a regular litter box that I've had to use since July (1yr after purchase).
    -------
Not heavy and less expensive than some models. Took a bit to set up the internet but finally figured it out. Fairly quiet and works good so far. It will save my knees and I don't have to clean daily because it does that. Easy to remove the drum for cleaning. Surprisingly, my cat went right in and used it.

First off I used the arm and hammer clumping slide litter. This litter has ultra fine particles with little dust. I think I over filled it slightly and didn't smooth it out as good as possible and some dumped in the bag excessively on the initial setup. We gghave 3 male cats ranging from 4 to 8 years old, 1 is shorter than the other 2 and a little big boned, lol, 16 lbs. The other 2 are huge (not fat), tall brothers, both around 19 lbs. Yep, I know, they're out of specification for the device. They all fit, I did a dry test by placing one (he wasn't a reluctant subject) in the chamber before adding the litter. As far as weight with the measuring on the device, I simply don't care if it's accurate or not. Some of the cats weigh according to the box over 5000 grams and some under. Not at all accurate, again, don't care. I bought this to eliminate odor and strain of scooping. I had tried crystal litter, mixes, dust is a big thing for us (wife included) and I finally broke down and bought this. I do like it so far, wayyyy better than the one that shuts the door and has a mechanical scoop. That thing is junk and creates more mess than it cleans (returned it after 3 days). Famree, so far, is really good, the app is well... It's a work in progress?? Stuff is lost in translation with the manual and the app. I already had the app for a garage door accessory smart controller adapter (and yes I can clean the litter box and open the garage door within seconds of each other, lmao). I figured it out and use what works. My clumping time is set for about 6-10 min, cleaning interval about an hour to two. I do set it to auto and it does a really good job. Sometimes some of the litter leaks from where I'm not sure, around the bag maybe, a teaspoon or less of those really fine particles. For what it does, I'm actually pretty impressed. Again it's not going to be perfect, nothing is perfect. For the money I would spend it again on this device. I do recommend it, I will update my review as it works through the weeks, but so far I'm pleased.
    Update, been almost a month.
So far, I still a believer. I still have a few days to decide if I wish to send it back. I wish to keep it. Is it perfect, no. Is it better than scooping and sifting myself, yes. I think it's worth it. Everyone wants the pros first but I'm not everyone...
Cons: 1. Sometimes pee clumps behind the sifter grate. Yep, it happens. 2. Pee from a user who doesn't sit when he pees slightly escapes from the yellow plug in the back. 3. One of my cats won't use it because it scares him. He's a stray and I don't begrudge him as I think he was abused before he showed up at our door a few years ago. He's skittish, I can't fault him for wanting a manual, uncovered litterbox.
Pros: 1. The two giant brothers we have use it regularly, the 18 pounder is religious about it, the 19 pounder uses manual and automatic, mainly automatic. I put up a security cam to see if the 16lb skittish boy was using it, he won't. Maybe eventually, but not yet. 2. It's very quiet 3. It does a really decent job for what mechanically isn't exactly simple. 4. The weight finally works well sometimes to differentiate between the two big boys. 5. I have never had it fail. Always unplug to add litter and level it out. Make sure to reset clumping and cleaning intervals as these two settings on the app reset. 6. It saves my back and knees from extra work on two litter boxes it replaced. 7. The bags that come with it work beautifully.
I like it, will update if changes arise.
Update: This litter box has some serious flaws.
First: The seam in the drum will leak urine.
Second: The rubber seal under the litter will accumulate urine.
Three: You will have urine leak from the rear center plug if your cat doesn't hit the litter.
I've had to caulk the seams after cleaning and try to help fix the shortcomings. I no longer recommend this product.

This is the second item I've reviewed in the almost 8 years I've had prime. I bought during the "prime day" deals and took a chance despite the unsettling reviews. I was impressed once I pulled this contraption out the box, the modern look made it aesthetically pleasing in the space. Set up was fairly easy, a bit confusing but once you read the instructions over a couple times it's a breeze. I have 2 cats and one just had babies (oh joy) one of the two cats is a kitten and loves this thing, especially when it's self cleaning.
    For the cons:
-putting litter in is a bit of a pain especially if you don't buy bags of litter.
    - When it is self cleaning, some of the clumps don't make it into the bin due to the length of the waste bin(not a huge con but a small one)
-The waste bag area collects litter and it's really annoying. It would be better if there was a seal or something for the bag to fully be sealed.
    - scale to monitor weight isn't accurate

I have yet to take it apart so I can't speak on that
    Pros
-I can get notifications every time the cats use the bathroom.
    - The app lets me know when it has completed the cleaning cycle
-I don't smell the nasty litter box odor anymore which is HUGE!
-It comes with 2 rolls of waste bags.

I would recommend this to first timers before they drop a huge bag on a litter robot, this does amazing with two cats, the true test is when the kittens are older and I will come back and update this review!

UPDATE: I am back after having this thing for a while and now with older kittens. It has held up surprisingly well even with the extra uses from the kittens. I have noticed that it does stop at times and of course is filling up alot quicker which is expected, it is definitely hanging in there. I have been able to take it apart to clean and thankfully have only found loose litter that made it's way through the cracks, I simply dump it on the mat and pour back inside the drum. This thing is amazing, would not recommend for a home with more than 3 cats unless you can grab two of these things.
