- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2025Style: with Peri BottleVerified PurchaseI’ve never felt compelled to write a review for anything until now. This little kit saved my life postpartum. I bought this to prepare for postpartum for my first child, having no idea what to expect. I experienced 2 tears and was in a lot of pain after delivery. They gave me some products at the hospital but they were uncomfortable and made me feel gross. Once I got home I immediately switched to my Frida mom products exclusively. So much more comfortable and I feel so much more confident. I’m only a week postpartum and I have healed significantly. When I got home I could barely walk or get out of bed by myself and now I feel almost back to normal! Can’t recommend enough
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2025Style: with Peri BottleVerified PurchaseFirst time mom here so I wanted to be sure to be prepared. I got this kit not really knowing much about each product and why I would need it. However, after giving birth I had 3 tears that are SUPER painful. Besides the shedding of the uterus, it’s been pretty uncomfortable. I’ve used every product in this kit now and it has remarkably made my healing easier and I might even say faster. My favorite product is the foaming witchhazel pump which has proven invaluable everytime I use the restroom, it cools off and eases the pain. I also like the disposable underwear, the fit is nice and it’s a much more solid product than what I had from hospital. The peri bottle has been useful everytime I use the restroom and overall I love the products.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2025Style: with Peri BottleVerified PurchaseOne of the best baby registry gifts you can purchase for a new Mom! The quality is so much better than what they give you in the hospital and all postpartum nurses would agree.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2021UPDATE:
I am now 12 weeks postpartum. My rating stands. I’d probably give it 3.5 realistically, but I’m rounding up in Amazon’s whole stars rating system because I think we need more companies thinking about raising the bar when it comes to comfortable postpartum recovery and I love that Frida was one of the first to get the ball rolling on that.
All this said, some products were better than others and overall, I feel that the kit is overpriced. I suggest waiting for a good sale on Prime Day or Black Friday as I did, or putting it on your registry. To save yourself money and avoid wasting product, I recommend trying each item one at a time alongside hospital-provided items, so you can get a better gauge on how you like each item individually and possibly opt for other products. Frida’s list of directions incorporating every product is a way to get you running through their products faster so you need to re-up sooner. If you’re a FTM, know that the products you use and the order in which you use them will change as your postpartum recovery progresses. I found some of these products more useful at different stages and some were a complete bust.
Here are my thoughts on each product:
Undies (1/5) - These were the first things I raved over as a clueless preggo, and the least useful thing in actual recovery. Nothing stayed in place. The adhesive padsicle was too heavy and didn’t actually adhere to whatever material is used in the undies. I had the same issue with lighter pads provided by my hospital. When products shift with your natural movement, the underwear can’t hold them in place. I do wish I had a pair to try towards the end of my recovery when I was fine with just a spritz of Dermoplast or a dollop of the perineal foam and just needed a light pad. At that point, I was down to a few hospital-provided mesh undies and I would’ve loved to see how Frida compared. By that point, I wasn’t willing to shell out the money.
Perineal foam (5/5) - Love the smell, nice lightweight feel, and very gently cooling. Not a big shock to the system like the padsicle or witch hazel pad. I don’t recommend just putting it over the witch hazel pad as recommended. Use a few dollops underneath as a sort of “glue”, as the pads tend to slip around. Works great with the small round witch hazel pads you get at the hospital too. Draw a long line across the pad, smooth it out, then place a line of rounds across. Later in your recovery, apply to your hand and rub directly on the perineum. 👌🏼 I will say - Dermoplast is better than this foam as a product to layer on top of the witch hazel pads. This stuff is already witch hazel in a lighter foam form. Great for “connecting” the stronger liquid witch hazel products, but use as instructed and you’re just putting witch hazel on witch hazel.
Padsicles (3/5) - The crack-apart feature is more convenient than homemade ones you freeze. I wish I had taken a few to my hospital because I don’t feel they provided enough of theirs and I wouldn’t have had to worry about finding a space to keep them cool. That said, they are VERY cold. Even with a witch hazel liner, the coldness is too jolting. Plan on having a ratty washcloth to place over it for a few minutes. Also, they are super heavy. If you’re about to sleep or sit for awhile, it’s fine. If you’re needing to move around, it’ll be very cumbersome.
Witch hazel pads (4/5) - Sure, it was convenient to have one long pad stretch across the whole liner rather than little pads that shift around. That said, this sucker shifts around too. As mentioned above, it helps to have Frida’s perineal foam adhering it along the ends or a pad slightly shorter than the liner so that it can be tucked under.
——-
I have not yet delivered, so I can’t comment on the effectiveness of the products. I will say that I’m a plus size woman (5’6”, 240 lbs) and the pair of undies I tried on fit very comfortably over my thicc thighs, big butt, and 26 week belly. I can only imagine how nice they’ll feel postpartum. I also love how that cute caddy has a place for everything. There’s a little extra room for any other supplies provided by the hospital too. Be aware that the famous upside-down peri bottle isn’t included, but honestly, you can find inexpensive copycats if you’re not into the one the hospital provides. Better yet, get a bidet with a female setting! Great for cleaning up after sex too. ;)
Deducting a star because the amount of packaging involved (pictured) was so wasteful. You know that scene in The Emperor’s New Groove when Yzma schemes about turning Kuzco into a flea, putting that flea in a box, then putting that box into another box, shipping it to herself, and then smashing it with a hammer? I think Frida’s shipping department took a page out of Yzma’s bad idea book.
I will update after I give birth in the fall and have a chance to use the products, but for now - 4/5

1.0 out of 5 stars Items not all included
Style: with Peri BottleVerified PurchaseThe peri bottle was not included, the box clearly says now included and shows the picture of the peri bottle so I’m unsure why this is not inside and there is a space where the bottle should be in the caddy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Alittle over rated
Style: with Peri BottleVerified PurchaseIt’s over rated, the panties are not free size, I’m size L and they are very tight , didn’t use, then the pads are so uncomfortable and bulky, definitely not worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a must have
So at 1st i was like do I need this or do I want this ?you definitely need this! there is a huge difference using every single step of the freeda mom .
I ended up buying packages and packages and packages of ice pads ( so far 7 and 3 is on the way to ship.) (Baby is 7 days old) ,2 extra pack of the underwear and liner but the foam is enough.
this one comes with the holder that you can use it in bathroom. It changes the whole experience. I literally got up and moving day first. My baby was 2 weeks late and i had 3 days of induction. Horrible time in labour . Got the stiches.but this set made me feel like nothing happened down there. I use the everyday chabge them max evey 3 hours.
