While silk production requires less water than other fabrics, it also relies on domesticated silkworms that feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree. That's why we use recycled silk for our Silk Duvet Insert. It’s a more ethical option compared to virgin silk. Plus, recycled silk reduces waste by keeping this coveted, exquisite fiber out of landfills and giving it new life as luxurious, sustainable bedding.
We encase the duvet insert’s recycled silk filling with wondrously soft, GOTS-certified organic cotton. Stitched in a lavish, 400-thread-count sateen weave, it’s the perfect combination of comfort and sustainability. Organic certified cotton is also more breathable than synthetic alternatives. Ours is ethically grown in India without pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. This is better for you, our family farmers, and the planet.

Washing your Silk Duvet Insert is easy. Simply machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Hang it to dry and avoid direct sunlight exposure. Do not bleach.

Machine wash your silk duvet insert on the delicate cycle in cold water with an eco-friendly laundry detergent. Tumble dry low or not heat in a full size dryer only. You can also lay flat or hang to dry. Do not use bleach. Allow to dry completely before putting the cover back on your comforter. Fluff your comforter regularly; an excellent time to do so is when you make your bed in the morning.

We're proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we've been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this.
