There are only 100 days left until they light the torch, and what better way to celebrate than with chocolate? For the first time, Reese’s is adding a new summer Peanut Butter Cup shape for athletes and fans alike to enjoy. As a part of The Hershey’s Company partnership with Team USA, you'll soon be able to stock up on limited-edition Reese’s Medals—the brand’s classic candy in the shape of the Olympic medallions. Available as of April 10, the shape will stick around only through the summer games (which take place in Paris this year). You can get them in snack, standard, and king sizes at your local grocery store. Yes, You Can Make 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cups in the Microwave “We know that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are legendary among fans—and just like with legendary athletes—there is always room for some friendly competition to bring out the best versions of ourselves,” Shannon Wilkinson, Reese's senior brand manager, said in a press release. In this spirit of friendly competition and to promote the Medals, Reese's teamed up with actual medalists: Launching what it's calling The Legends vs. Newcomers campaign, the collaboration features Olympic gold medalist Alex Morgan and hopeful Sophia Smith in soccer, along with Paralympic gold medalist Jessica Long and hopeful Haven Shepherd for swimming. Not only are these four repping the Reese’s brand this year, they’ll also be releasing advertising events that show off their skills up until the games officially begin. While this is the first seasonal shape Reese's is launching, if you're a Peanut Butter Cup lover you know you can treat yourself to a few different holiday-themed chocolates throughout the year, from eggs and pumpkins to hearts and trees. Some fans argue that these special shapes somehow taste better than the original—and we actually did our own taste testing research to prove there's truth behind these claims (it has to do with the peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio). So it wouldn't be too surprising if that's the case with the Medals. Why Do Pumpkin-Shaped Reese's Taste Better Than the Original? If you're in need of more treats for your Olympics watch party, Hershey’s Kisses are also available for a limited time with patriotic foil to rep Team USA, and Ice Breakers joined the summer lineup with a Golden Pineapple flavor to round off the Team USA Olympics collection.
