Look, we get it. Eating your greens might not be the highlight of your day, but is cosplaying as a hungry herbivore really the only way to eat spinach? According to one TikToker, the answer is yes.
User @sahmthingsup took to the social media platform to share her own health strategy and "lazy girl hack," which she has dubbed "dinosaur time," in a now-viral video that's garnered over 75K likes.
"I’ve been trying to eat more greens with every meal recently, and I have figured out the best life hack that works for me," she tells her audience. "So I thought I’d show you. I call it dinosaur time, and this is what it looks like." She then proceeds to aggressively shove handfuls of spinach straight into her mouth.
As taken aback as we might've been watching her unhinged eating habit, we have to give it to her. It's giving dinosaur.
"I’ve been going strong on dinosaur time for about a week now as a supplement to my normal lunches, and I feel pretty good," she captioned the video.
Fans quickly took to the comment section with a mix of confusion and excitement. "You mean I don’t have to make elaborate salads and rage wash and chop and prep all the things each week? You may have just changed my life," one person commented. "U seem like u would have more relatable lifestyle tips tbh," another said.
"Adulthood is just finding increasingly strange ways of tricking yourself into doing what you’re supposed to," a viewer chimed in.
"I was proud of myself for throwing a handful every time I make soup or pasta, but this is really leveling it up," someone else added.
She’s not the only one practicing dinosaur time, either. "My hubs thinks I’m so weird bc this is my preferred way to eat veggies. Just dinosaur it all at once. Then I don’t have to pretend to like it in my pasta etc.," a user wrote.
The TikToker told The New York Post that she started eating raw greens years ago as an athlete who had to prioritize a macronutrient-rich diet.
She admitted that though she likes salads, they "take a long time to prepare and an even longer time to eat." She added that an all-green meal wasn’t exactly "appetizing" either.
She stumbled across a post online of someone similarly admitting they were "overwhelmed with figuring out how to incorporate greens" and "ate a handful of spinach over the sink" instead. She was inspired.
"I thought it was genius, so I decided to do the same, and it worked beautifully," she told the outlet.
