Broken already after 2 times
The heat bag is already broken after 2 times of use. And I have always followed instructions when it comes to heating… I would not recommend this

The heat bag is already broken after 2 times of use. And I have always followed instructions when it comes to heating… I would not recommend this

This Ostrichpillow Heatbag is so wonderful! I have always loved using hot water bottles during sickness or just during the colder Winter weather when I'm chilly and want some lovely hygge, but there is always the slight concern of leakage and/or burns from the super hot (not boiling of course) water within. I had never heard of the Ostrich Pillow brand until now, and I really like what they are offering!
This heat bag is unique in that the heat source (which can also be frozen for cold therapy!) is a removable nylon bag that is filled with clay and glycerin, giving it a heavy, dense liquid feeling when squeezed. The bag may be placed into the microwave or even boiled to bring it to a nice hot heat before zipping it snugly back into the jersey and memory foam pillowcase, or else it may be frozen for a short time first. The bag is incredibly easy to take care of and heat, and I love that the outer case may be washed if needed.
This heat bag does get quite warm without being too hot, and in some ways feels like a nice warm hug while you are holding it against yourself. The heat lasts maybe an hour, dissipating over the course of that time, but still offering good comfort to the user for quite awhile, and is especially nice to snuggle with when drifting off to sleep.
I think the only things I don't absolutely love about this heatbag is that the price is extremely steep, a bit too much in my opinion, and I wish it could stay hotter for longer, but nothing is perfect and that's just to be expected.
I am married, and obviously have my own husband to snuggle with on the couch in an evening, but I also love holding this bag against me for extra warmth and comfort, it is just so cozy. That said, this would be an amazing gift for anyone who is single, and especially for the elderly, to whom I imagine it would be very therapeutic and mood boosting!
I gave this heatbag five stars because I really do love mine and use it quite often. I just don't think I would want to pay more than $35-$40 for one if I was paying full price.
