Last week, the tabloids reported that Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale has a new boyfriend. The relationship is “super-casual, but it’s not brand new,” a source told People. Who’s the guy? His name is Harry Jowsey. Harry Jowsey. Harry Jowsey? It sounds so familiar, like I’ve been hearing it for years. But who is Harry Jowsey? Let’s find out together.
Jowsey is a 27-year-old professional reality-TV star from Queensland, Australia. He began his career in 2018 by winning Heartbreak Island Australia and then he took his talents to the U.S. in 2020 for the first season of the Netflix dating reality show Too Hot to Handle. (Fun fact: Too Hot to Handle is based on the Seinfeld episode “The Contest” and involves a group of sexy singles on vacation who have to remain celibate to win a cash prize.) Jowsey was a breakout star on Too Hot to Handle and went on to appear on Netflix’s Perfect Match (a convoluted series in which seasoned reality-TV daters attempt to match other couples and then break them up to win a prize). He also competed on The Amazing Race Australia and Dancing With the Stars.
All along the way, Jowsey picked up new girlfriends. He met and dated reality star Francesca Farago on Too Hot to Handle and later announced their breakup with a YouTube video titled “I broke up with her.” He then paired up with another Too Hot to Handle star, Georgia Hassarati, but they broke up after Jowsey publicly accused her of cheating on him. (Hassarati is now reportedly dating Gossip Girl–reboot star Thomas Doherty.) Jowsey also dated his Perfect Match co-star Jessica Vestal, and he was rumored to have flings with longtime Kardashian hanger-on Stassie Karanikolaou and OG YouTube star Tana Mongeau. In 2022, a Kardashian fan account posted a rumor that Khloé Kardashian was “DM-ing back and forth” with Jowsey, but Kardashian denied the story herself in the comments. “ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE,” she wrote. Phew.
During Jowsey’s run on Dancing With the Stars last year, fans speculated that he was dating his dance partner, Rylee Arnold (who was, it should be noted, just 18 at the time). Jowsey revealed during the premiere episode of his podcast that the rumors were not true. (Of course he has a podcast — it’s on Alex Cooper’s Unwell network and is called Boyfriend Material.)
“What if I told you I was actually in a secret relationship at the start of Dancing With the Stars?” he asked his audience before acknowledging that Arnold was “so sweet.”
“But remember, guys: I had a secret girlfriend at the time, so I wasn’t even thinking about that. I was on my good-boy behavior,” he said. He did not reveal the identity of this lucky lady and instead said they had already broken up. Ah, well.
Now, Jowsey has turned his attention to Hale. According to Deuxmoi, the two had a dinner date at the celeb-friendly Corner Store in New York last week. Us Weekly reports that Jowsey “initiated things” with Hale by sliding into her Instagram DMs and that they bonded over their mutual sobriety (Hale has been sober since 2022, and Jowsey announced his desire to get sober at the beginning of this year).
“It’s casual and they are having fun, but Harry is very into Lucy,” a source told the tabloid. “Friends around them think they are very cute and are a good, yet surprising match.”
